Here’s a few good sites that publicly criticize bad design, which I completely support. Check them out and send them some stuff to put up and make fun of!

The beauty of rss feeds

general — by Shannon on March 4, 2009

As some of you may or may not know, you can subscribe to my blog, and many others by rss feed. I have a link over in the sidebar where you can subscribe in your reader program, like Google offers, or by email. Many people don’t utilize the beauty and power of an rss reader, probably because they don’t know what they are missing!

I only started subscribing to blogs about a year ago, and before that, I had no idea what that even meant. It started when I discovered that Betty Crocker offered a way to receive daily recipes, in your email (and I was already getting too much email) or by rss feed. So I signed up for the rss feed through my Google Reader. Now I subscribe to 23 blogs, some personal, and some cooking ones, but mostly design ones that keep me up to date with great sites and designs, new business cards and packaging, cool tips and tricks for coding, and more. As I’ve mentioned many times, I LOVE learning! These blogs come to me, I don’t have to hunt around for them. They allow me to learn something new daily which is invaluable, and these are free!

Subscribing through rss feeds is kind of like subscribing to a newsletter, but only receiving the articles that interest you most. Check it out, I guarantee you won’t go back, and you’ll love it as much as I do!
