We’ve launched a great new website for Pioneer 90.1 Radio, the college radio station for Northland Community & Technical College that has campuses in East Grand Forks, MN and Thief River Falls, MN.
The radio station plays many types of music during all of their different programming, but is mostly an adult alternative station, with music from artists like Jack Johnson & Adele. They wanted the design to reflect this type of music but also be a bit edgy and modern to show that they are a college radio station.

This year’s topic is food, so we could hardly turn down the opportunity to participate! This year also marks our 4th year that we’ve joined the conversation. Texture is a great way to add some visual interest to a design and give it that extra spark. Depending on the choice of texture, it can also add some character to the design as well, so it’s important to choose appropriate textures that match the style of the company.
We love using texture at Snoack Studios and wanted to highlight some really great uses of texture in web design today. We picked out 8 sites that have different types of textures and also different levels of intensity too. They all do a great job of utilizing these textures to enhance the site and create a great look.

Many businesses follow the same marketing plan each year, although it’s always a great idea to incorporate new things every so often. Postcards are a great (new) idea to try, something that’s not really new but you might not have tried it before. They are considered a bit old-school, but there are lots of different ways to incorporate them into your marketing plans that could be a bit hit.
