Cooking & Web Design

fun,web design — by Shannon on October 21, 2010

kitchenAs an avid cook, I love to try new recipes, and as a passionate designer I enjoy trying new styles and techniques. My love of cooking has inspired me to correlate the two very different disciplines, cooking and web design. Cooking takes patience and skills, as well as practice time where you may get things wrong, but you can learn from your mistakes and improve your skillset for the future. Web design is much the same way. Many cooking principles can be applied to web design to offer inspiration and guidance when creating a new site. It’s Holiday Card Time!

design,fun — by Shannon on October 11, 2010

holidayYou may be thinking, “It’s way too early to start thinking about the holidays!” But October is actually the perfect time to start planning. As many of you know sending out a holiday card is a great way to show your clients appreciation for their business. It’s also a great way to remind them about your services, and hopefully spark some interest in doing more business with you. If you’re creating a custom card (which creates a great extra special touch), you have to get them designed, printed, get your list together, and then stuff all your envelopes. That’s why you want to start early, so you’re all set to enjoy the holidays by the end of November!
