We’re proud to announce that we’ve just launched a great update on our site! The overhaul has been a few months in the making, and we can’t wait to show it to you, so check it out here and let us know what you think in the comments below!

We update the Snoack Studios site pretty regularly with small tweaks here and there as needed. But our portfolio and service list has grown over the last year and a half, so we made the decision a few months ago that we needed to change a few major things on the site in order to incorporate everything that we now offer.

Services

The thing that prompted the update in the first place was our services list. We do a lot with social media but didn’t have a space to list that on our site or show the cool stuff we’ve done, it just didn’t fit anywhere. Our services page listed a bunch of stuff but didn’t have distinct areas for each service and the whole thing wasn’t as clear as it could be, so we needed to give it a nice overhaul.

We’ve defined 6 areas that we provide services for, and they each have their own page that describes more about them. Also, each design service (everything but Design Consultation) has its own portfolio page where you can see the great things we’ve done in that particular area.

The services page is a lot more powerful now. By expanding it into a full width layout, instead of being constricted by the layout of the other pages that have a sidebar, it gave us more room to play with, and it’s a lot easier to find what you’re looking for now.

Homepage

We decided we also wanted to change the way the services were listed on the homepage, to make them stand out more and have it be easier to look at. So we added icons for each service so it’s more visual now, and separated it into 2 columns so the list wasn’t too long. The icons were carried over to the services page to give some continuation and a more visual look at what the service is.

While we were at it, we wanted to add some more power to the homepage, so we played around with some ideas and decided that our main headline area wasn’t striking enough. We added a larger rotating banner that takes up the full width of the top area and gave it a larger and more powerful headline, and a fun image to accompany each slide. You now get a great view of what Snoack Studios does when you land on the homepage, and you get it quickly and easily.

Portfolio

Our portfolio worked well for us when we first started but we’ve grown quite a bit in the last year and a half and we needed more space and a better layout for the portfolio pages. We also wanted to add portfolios for each design service so they each had their own area. We moved things around and came up with a new layout that brings the pertinent information to the top and makes everything easier to find and click on. The thumbnail images are also larger so you can see them better and the text for each project has more space so you can see it better.

Free Quote Slider

We love getting quote requests from our website but it was a bit confusing to find before so we wanted to make it more prominent and easier to use. We designed a jquery slider that is located at the top of each page and slides open with the click of a button to expose a quote request form that’s easy and streamlined. We implemented this a few weeks ago and have already seen more quote requests come our way.

We know that a great site needs updates every now and then to make it relevant for your company, and this is a great example of how you can work through those changes. We were so excited for this update because it shows that although your site can be great (we really did love our site before!) it can become outdated for your company’s needs. We still love the look of our site and believe it defines us well so we didn’t want to change that, but it did need an overhaul in order to fit all of the things we needed and be the powerhouse of a site that it can be!
