Great New Proposal Service: WP Bids

business by Shannon Noack on August 2, 2010 | 2 Comments

bidsWP Bids is a great new service for any business owner or professional. It’s integrated right into WordPress, and creates clean and professional-looking proposals quickly and easily. WP Bids takes the hassle out of managing your proposals by keeping everything in one place and making it all easy to look at. Impress clients and potential customers by sending your proposals right on the web. Need to make a quick update? Not a problem. You want to add your company’s branding and style? That’s easy too.

Check it out at wpbids.com.

I did a quick interview with one of the guys behind WP Bids, Brian Casel. Here’s what he had to say.

Briefly tell us about WP Bids, and how it could benefit a small business owner?

WP Bids is a specialized WordPress theme for creating (awesome) project proposals using WordPress. A project proposal, otherwise known as a “job bid” or a “quote” is a document/presentation that is given to a potential client, outlining their project, a time estimate, price quote, and any other info that may help win their business.

It’s great for small business owners who rely on keeping a steady stream of clients and projects coming in. Not only do the proposals you create with WP Bids look great (and win more projects), you save tons of valuable time since it’s so fast/easy to create new proposals. The template feature, makes it even faster/easier.

ThemeJam is the parent company of WP Bids.

Can you walk me through how it all works with creating each bid or proposal once it’s all setup?

I have put together some videos to demonstrate the process of creating proposals with WP Bids. Here’s one of me creating a basic proposal:

More videos and in-depth info about features can be found on WPBids.com. In a nutshell, creating a new proposal is as easy as creating any post or page in WordPress.

Is the theme customizable so that the bids I send out to potential clients fall in step with my company’s brand?

Branding is obviously very important. With WP Bids, you can easily upload your own logo image and have it display at the top of every proposal you create. This is done via the theme options. No hacking necessary.

Also in the theme options, you can choose any of the 4 built-in color schemes. You can also fully customize every piece of text, content, contact info, etc. You can even turn off the WPBids credit at the bottom with the switch of a button (same with all ThemeJam themes).

If you’re a web designer, and you’d like to customize things even more, you can! It’s all hosted on your own WordPress installation. You can even develop child themes for WP Bids.

What kind of fees are involved?

The WP Bids theme is a one-time purchase of $59. You get the complete theme, with included documentation as well as the layered Photoshop design file. You also get lifetime access to the customer support forums. You are licensed to use the theme on as many websites as you want.

Pricing and packaged items are the same for all WordPress themes from ThemeJam.
